Just for a moment, take a step back from where you find yourself. For a second or two, extricate yourself from who you believe that you are. Lay down your arms. Release your day. Let go of the headlines, tweets, and posts that you’ve surrendered your power to. For just an instant, imagine that you are more than the day you had. In this instant, allow that it just might be okay for the world to make a quarter of a revolution without your constant vigilance. And breathe. Breathe, deeply. Separate yourself from all of the external noise, and focus internally. Turn inward. Listen. Allow for the truth of who you are to return to you. It is there, as it always has been, and as it always will be, regardless of what you have chosen to believe about yourself. It cannot be otherwise.
Shakespeare nailed it. All the world is a stage. Allow everyone to play their part. That’s why they're here. That’s why you’re here. Stop railing against all the things you don’t want. You are only adding to the conflict. Rather, stand up for and move toward the things that you do want. In that, you are a positive force. In that, you can change the world.
